A long trip across the Auvergne hills from Beaune. Not lost very often. So now we are stuck in Sarlat in the Dordogne region. A serene campground with cuckoo birds and forest and pools! There is also draft beer and croissants and... Weather still grand. >Biking downhill to town is great, back is real exercise. The ride to the river was interesting, and we have seen the caves of cro-magnon man - look a lot like Peter. Saw Domme where we visited 30 years ago - much more touristy now.
Tomorrow will be ?
La vie est bon.

Stuck in Burgundy by fine wine, fine food, fine weather and nice people. And learning yet another keyboard.
Biked through the vineyards. Sampled a cellar. Toured Beaune. Great campground by the old town. Heading to the Museum today, and the Dordogne tomorrow.
Will post some pics when we get wireless.

One week, 700km and we haven’t left Germany except for a little bit of Austria. It has been sunny every day except yesterday until we arrived at our campsite here. Our camper (photo) is working great – 9L/100km carrying all the necessities of home! Try that in your Expedition. This morning is cooool in the mountains, but this baby also has heat.
We have seen many little villages from the middle ages, with Dinkelsbuhl as a great example (see photo). Barb made it down the tram with about 1km between support towers from Zugspitze (photo) – and I have the fingernail dents in my arm to prove it. Left Garmisch for Schwangau and King Ludwig’s fairy tale castle (photo). Our campsite had a view of it from the other side across the fields. Then off to the Black Forest along the Bodensee to another countryside campsite overlooking a little tourist lake. There is real countryside here – huge areas that are left for hiking and biking, and lots of people are doing that. The campgrounds are used as cottages by many. This one at Titisee is open in the winter – plowed rows and all.

Wir sind on top of the ZugSpitze in Germany at Garmische Partinkirsche amazingly beautiful place. Camping has been good, camper is perfect size for two friends. Been to Dinkelbuhl - wonderful 16th century town where Barb had her 22 birthday a couple of years ago. Had dinner in the same restaurant. The old campground is gone. Bikes have worked well around town and in the country. Weather has been spectacular. If only we could speak German - ´cause they sure don´t speak English. But we´re getting what we need. If this is the friendly part of the country though, we think we´ll visit France.
Auf Weidersehn!

landed in Germany after great visit with David, Yvonne, Marion and Ricky in London, also took in the Tate Gallery. These German keyboards are different and enough to drive me mad(der). Munich is a surprisingly picturesque place. Did the bus tour to take in the sites. Barb is still wondering why Peter did not build a castle when Graham was born. Stayed in very nice hotel recommended by Mark J. Dinner in Ratskellar - not a rat cellar but a basement restaurant that is very big place here right in the main square here.
Off to get the camper now and into the Romantische Strasse. As the guy at the tourist info place said - Germany is known for industry, not tourism, but it,s a hidden gem. We hope.

After a whirlwind week at home and the farm it's time to head across the pond for the next radventuring installment. Leaving on a jet plane, don't know when we'll be back again.... oh yes we do but that's not in the song. Arriving in London tomorrow where we're looking forward to spending a couple of days with family and then heading to Munich on Wednesday. Auf Wiedersehen for now.
